Race Report: State Road Championship - Juniors

The Junior Dropouts were represented by Kip Nielsen, Jane Lee, Max Carpenter, Andrew Plumb, Gregory Plumb, and Elliot Schad.
The Junior races were a bit chaotic with different age group lads and lasses overtaking each other along with the Cat 4 Women.
As if the hill was not steep enough, Kip and Elliot muscled up it in their big rings due to mechanical issues. And you thought Gartland & Nilsen were tough guys ("it was raining and we got all wet!")
The hill was not kind to Jane and she lost contact with the peloton of 17-18 year olds, but she hung on to bring home a Silver medal in the young women's division.
Max rode a really good race but left right after because he thought he was out of the money. Turns out the two guys who we thought won the 17-18 race were actually younger, so Max also won Silver. Did I mention, this is Max's first season of bike racing?
In his first ever bike race, 15 year old Gregory finished with the first chase group of very fast 15-16 year olds, beating almost all of the older kids, and getting 5th place.
In his first ever bike race, 13 year old Andrew won a Silver medal! Yes, "Schleck" is Luxembourgish for "Plumb".
